Boulogne-Billancourt is an attractive suburb just outside Paris’s Périphérique ring road and, at its northern limit, borders the vast Bois de Boulogne. It was once a centre for the French aircraft industry and the site of one of Renault’s largest factories. The French film industry had its beginnings in Boulogne-Billancourt too, but these days, although the area is still an important business district, the industry is gone and movie stars live here rather than work here. You’ll find some palatial homes and a lot of interesting architecture. The neighbourhood’s proximity to the Bois de Boulogne and good Métro connections explain why it’s a popular choice for families and even those who work in the centre of Paris.
