The Louvre is among Paris’s least populated neighbourhoods, but what it lacks in residents it more than makes up for in tourists, who come here to visit one of the world’s best, biggest and most spectacular museums. Once the Louvre closes for the day however, things are more peaceful and there are plenty of luxury shops and top restaurants available in the nearby streets, particularly the elegant rue de Rivoli. This is undoubtedly one of Paris’s most expensive residential areas and apartments here, some of them among the loveliest in the city, are in short supply. Well worth it if you don’t mind not having a supermarket nearby.
